Les Dames du bois de Boulogne

Hélène (María Casares) is a Parisian society woman who learns that her lover Jean (Paul Bernard) has grown tired of her, and she answers by arranging a meeting. She sets Agnès (Élina Labourdette), a young woman with a past, in his path, and Mme. D (Lucienne Bogaert) is drawn in beside her. Robert Bresson holds the camera on Agnès in the last frames, her face pale and still.
