Les Misérables

Stéphane (Damien Bonnard) joins the Anti-Crime Squad in Montfermeil, the Paris suburb where Victor Hugo set his novel, and rides out on his first patrol with Chris (Alexis Manenti) and Gwada (Djebril Zonga). The neighborhood is already tense, with local gangs on edge, and an arrest goes wrong when the three officers are overrun. A drone captures the encounter. Ladj Ly, raised in these same streets, films it with the pace and pressure of a first-hand account.
