Let the Right One In
“Eli is 12 years old. She's been 12 for over 200 years, and she just moved in next door.”
Oskar (Kåre Hedebrant), a bullied 12-year-old in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in the early 1980s, makes his first friend when a girl named Eli (Lina Leandersson) moves in next door. She keeps to herself, moody and strange, and the longer he spends around her, the clearer it gets that she is no ordinary child. Tomas Alfredson sets it among the apartment blocks of Blackeberg, where the courtyard is quiet and everything is cold and blue.
