“Write your wrongs”

Alice Hughes (Meryl Streep), a celebrated author, boards the Queen Mary 2 with two old friends, Susan (Dianne Wiest) and Roberta (Candice Bergen), hoping to have some fun and heal old wounds. Her nephew Tyler (Lucas Hedges) comes along to look after the women and ends up drawn toward Karen (Gemma Chan), a young literary agent. Soderbergh shot it with natural light and improvised dialogue, so Alice spends the voyage talking with people who know her too well.
