“The magic is back again!”

Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) go after Jack Travis (Stuart Wilson), a former police officer who knows the department's procedures and uses them to steal confiscated guns and ammunition. Richard Donner pairs the two detectives with Lorna Cole (Rene Russo) and Leo Getz (Joe Pesci). Travis sells what he takes to street gangs, so the police evidence room is turning into a supply line for the violence they are trying to stop.
