Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson), a young photographer, spends 1955 trailing the rising Hollywood actor James Dean (Dane DeHaan) with a camera, chasing the pictures that might make his name. Anton Corbijn puts the two of them together on an assignment for Life magazine, and a close bond forms between them. For Dennis, every frame he takes of Dean is a bet on his own career, and he has only so long to get it right.
