“An unforgettable fable that proves love, family and imagination conquer all.”

Guido (Roberto Benigni), an Italian bookseller of Jewish ancestry, is marched with his wife Dora (Nicoletta Braschi) and young son Giosué (Giorgio Cantarini) into a concentration camp during World War II. Roberto Benigni, who also directs, has him tell the boy it is all an elaborate game with prizes to win. Guido has to keep that story going every hour, because the one person he is protecting is watching him.
