“From Fortune 500 ... to fortune's fool.”

In 1991 Los Angeles, the rich and arrogant businessman Goddard Bolt (Mel Brooks) is feuding with his rival Vance Crasswell (Jeffrey Tambor) over a land deal. Their quarrel turns into a bet that Bolt can live penniless and anonymous on the city's streets for thirty days. Mel Brooks directs, and the wager leaves Bolt with a month on the street and a new friend in Molly (Lesley Ann Warren), a former Broadway dancer down on her luck.
