Life with Father

“Here for all!! All the happiness of the play that ran longer, the laughs that were louder than any known before!”

Clarence Day Sr. (William Powell) runs his New York household like a small firm, barking orders at the maids and his four red-headed sons and expecting the breakfast table to answer to him. Michael Curtiz films the family in rich Technicolor, with Vinnie (Irene Dunne) steering every argument her own way while her husband believes the house is his. Clarence only wants a quiet morning, and he cannot get through one.
