Lifeboat

“Six men and three women - against the sea, and each other!”

A German U-boat torpedoes a freighter in the Atlantic, and the survivors climb into one lifeboat. Connie Porter (Tallulah Bankhead) is among them, along with Gus Smith (William Bendix) and John Kovac (John Hodiak). Alfred Hitchcock never leaves the boat, and the camera stays on the planks, the rope and the wet faces crowded together.
