Light in the Piazza

(1962)Directed by Guy Green102 minDrama, Romance
“Were they too young for the love they dared?”

Meg Johnson (Olivia de Havilland) is an American mother touring Italy with her daughter Clara (Yvette Mimieux), who is slender, blonde and charmingly naive. Fabrizio Naccarelli (George Hamilton) keeps turning up wherever the two women go sightseeing, and his father (Rossano Brazzi) watches the attention as warily as Meg does. Guy Green films Florence and Rome in warm, bright color, so the trip looks like a postcard even as Meg's worry deepens.
