Light of My Life

“Her world is a deadly place”

A plague has killed most of the world's women, and a father tells everyone he meets that his child is a boy. Dad (Casey Affleck) has kept Rag (Anna Pniowsky) hidden for years, moving them from one wary camp to the next, and she is old enough now to ask why. Affleck films much of it in long, quiet takes, close on the two of them, so the film feels as small as their world.
