Limelight

(1952)Directed by Charlie Chaplin137 min · GRomance, Drama, Comedy
“The masterpiece of laughter and tears from the master of comedy!”

In London, Calvero (Charlie Chaplin) is a music hall comedian whose best years are behind him, and the audiences have thinned. He takes in Terry Ambrose (Claire Bloom), a young ballet dancer so despondent she can no longer walk, and sets about coaxing her back to her feet. Chaplin, who also wrote the score, builds a story about how one person's nerve can be lent to another.
