“The urban entity versus the passion for the land”
Why are three people in an open boat with no land in sight, and no one coming for them? A man and two women drift on the ocean, and to pass the time they tell each other how they came to be there. Mário Peixoto, who made this silent film in 1930, holds the three in the same small space, where the first woman (Olga Breno) and the second woman (Tatiana Rey) sit close enough to share every story.
