Lingui, the Sacred Bonds

Amina (Achouackh Abakar Souleymane) is a single mother on the outskirts of N'Djamena, working without pause to keep herself and her 15-year-old daughter fed. When she learns that Maria (Rihane Khalil Alio) is pregnant and wants no child, the two begin looking for an abortion, which both religion and law forbid. Mahamat-Saleh Haroun follows them as they ask for help, and the two women, mother and daughter, sit side by side in the quiet.
