Little Amélie or the Character of Rain

“When you're three years old, you see everything and understand nothing.”

Amélie (Loïse Charpentier) is a small child in post-war Japan who sees the world as a calm, puzzling thing, until a taste of chocolate sets her curiosity running. Maïlys Vallade and Liane-Cho Han follow her as she learns the wonders of nature and begins to sense what lies beneath her family's easy life as foreigners. Her attachment to the housekeeper Nishio-san (Victoria Grobois) grows into the closest bond she has.
