Little Men

“Be on each other's side.”

Jake (Theo Taplitz) is a quiet middle schooler who wants to be an artist, and at his grandfather's funeral he meets Tony (Michael Barbieri), a loud, easy kid who becomes his friend almost at once. Their families are tied together by a rent dispute between Jake's father, Brian (Greg Kinnear), and Tony's mother, Leonor (Paulina García). Ira Sachs leaves the two boys together at the edge of it all, with Jake's sketchbook open between them.
