Little Nicholas: Happy as Can Be

(2022)Directed by Amandine Fredon, Benjamin Massoubre86 minAnimation, Family

Somewhere between Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, René Goscinny (Alain Chabat) and Jean-Jacques Sempé (Laurent Lafitte) bend over a big white sheet of paper and draw a mischievous boy named Nicolas (Simon Faliu). He comes to life with his schoolyard friends and their fights, and he talks back to the two men who made him. Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre move between scenes taken straight from the books and the real work of inventing them.
