Living in Oblivion

“Nick is about to discover the first rule of filmmaking: if at first you don't succeed... PANIC!”

On a low-budget set in the mid-1990s, independent director Nick Reve (Steve Buscemi) is trying to shoot one scene before the day falls apart around him. His crew includes an insecure actress, Nicole (Catherine Keener), a megalomaniac star, a director of photography in a beret, and a catering table nobody trusts. Tom DiCillo follows the shoot through Wolf (Dermot Mulroney) and his camera, and Nick keeps going, clipboard in hand, the beret bobbing past.
