Liza

Liza (Catherine Deneuve) falls for Giorgio (Marcello Mastroianni), an artist who is already married and already devoted to his dog. She can't be his wife and she can't be his friend, so she decides to take the dog's place, and Ferreri follows her as she makes herself the creature who stays at his side. Deneuve sits at the foot of Giorgio's chair, watching him, close to the floor where the dog used to lie.
