“Another misery is coming... I can feel it.”

A mummy has just been unearthed, and a writer's quiet new house is no longer quiet. Reiko Haruna (Miki Nakatani) moves to a secluded suburban home to finish her novel, but she keeps turning to the archaeologist next door, Makoto Yoshioka (Etsushi Toyokawa), who is keeping the body close. Kiyoshi Kurosawa builds the film around what passes between those two, a pull neither of them can account for.
