“Someone has come along.”

A girl crosses the Mexican border with a nurse's last instructions and a man she has never met as her only destination, and the people hunting her are close behind. Logan (Hugh Jackman) wants none of it, since he is tending a failing Charles (Patrick Stewart) in a hideout and trying to disappear. James Mangold makes him look every one of his years, and the girl is asking him to be a protector again, the man he thought he was done being.
