Long Day's Journey Into Night
Breakfast at the Tyrone summer house in Connecticut, August 1912, starts easily enough, until the family begins watching Mary (Katharine Hepburn) for signs she has slipped back into morphine. Sidney Lumet keeps James Sr. (Ralph Richardson), Jamie (Jason Robards) and the ailing Edmund (Dean Stockwell) inside those rooms for the whole of one day. Fog presses against the windows of the house, and the family stays inside with it.
