Long Live Death

Fando, a boy of about ten, wants to understand why his father, Tosan (Ivan Henriques), was taken away as a Red when the Spanish civil war ended. His mother (Núria Espert) is devout and sympathetic to the Fascists, and he begins to suspect she had a hand in the arrest. Fernando Arrabal drew on his own childhood, cutting between Fando's invented explanations and his play, alone or with his friend Thérèse.
