Long Live the Queen

“A fairytale about chess”

Sara (Tiba Tossijn) is a little girl who learns chess from a set of enchanted pieces that come to life around her, with the White Queen (Monique van de Ven) among them. The game is also how she begins to find her father. Esmé Lammers wrote and directed this Dutch fairytale, and she dedicated it to her grandfather, the grandmaster Max Euwe. Sara moves one piece at a time, learning the rules of the board while she searches for the family she is missing.
