Long Way North

(2015)Directed by Rémi Chayé81 minAdventure, Animation, Drama, Family

In Saint Petersburg in 1892, the family of the explorer Oloukine (Féodor Atkine) is shamed when his ship fails to return from its latest expedition. His granddaughter Sasha (Christa Théret), a teenager raised among the aristocracy, refuses to accept it and runs away to follow his trail and find the ship he was famous for. Rémi Chayé animates her search in flat, bright planes of color, and Sasha keeps going when the people around her have already given up.
