Lord Jim

(1965)Directed by Richard Brooks154 minAdventure, Drama
“Lord Jim blasts the screen with breathless adventure!”

Jim (Peter O'Toole), a ship's officer in the 19th century, is branded a coward after a failure at sea, and the one thing he wants is to wipe the name off. Richard Brooks, adapting Joseph Conrad's novel, sends him to a remote settlement where Marlow (Jack Hawkins) follows his fate and Gentleman Brown (James Mason) is a man to reckon with. Jim goes out chasing a second chance, and the whole weight of his past goes with him.
