Lord of the Ants

Aldo Braibanti (Luigi Lo Cascio), a poet, playwright and student of ants, wants only to be left alone with the young man he loves, his pupil and friend Ettore (Leonardo Maltese). Italy in the late 1960s will not allow it, and he is prosecuted and sent to prison for that love. Gianni Amelio follows the journalist Ennio Scribani (Elio Germano) as he pieces together what happened, while Aldo and Ettore are pulled apart by the families, the accusers and the court.
