Between 2006 and 2010, Silvio Berlusconi (Toni Servillo) wants his old life back, the one with crowds and applause and a country that looked at him. Paolo Sorrentino fills the second half with parties, politicians and hangers-on, all of them still circling the man out of ambition, curiosity and affection. At the center sits his wife Veronica (Elena Sofia Ricci), whose marriage to him is the one orbit that cannot be explained away.
