Loulou

Nelly (Isabelle Huppert) leaves her husband André (Guy Marchand), a well-off man she has grown bored of, for Loulou (Gérard Depardieu), who has no job and a record of petty crime. Maurice Pialat keeps the camera close to the pair as they drift through days of sleeping late, drinking and sex. Pialat is interested in what a woman gives up for the person who makes her feel alive, and in how little that person offers back.
