Monica Wright (Sanaa Lathan) and Quincy McCall (Omar Epps) have lived next door to each other in Los Angeles since they were kids, and neither can say why the other keeps pulling them back. Both play basketball hard, both want the pros, and they spend years circling the question of whether they can have the game and each other. Gina Prince-Bythewood, in her first feature, follows them from the neighborhood court through high school and college.
