Alvin Johnson (Nick Cannon) is a high school outcast who wants to be considered cool, and he is willing to pay for it. His plan is to hire Paris Morgan (Christina Milian), a popular cheerleader, to pose as his girlfriend. Troy Byer, who wrote and directed this remake of the 1987 Can't Buy Me Love, keeps the tone light and sunny, with Kenan Thompson and Kal Penn in the supporting cast.
