Love Is My Profession

André Gobillot (Jean Gabin) is a leading lawyer, long married to Viviane (Edwige Feuillère), who takes on the defence of Yvette (Brigitte Bardot), a young woman in trouble with the law. As he works her case, an unexpected romance grows between the two. Claude Autant-Lara, adapting Georges Simenon, keeps his attention on the distance that opens between Gobillot and the wife who has been beside him for years.
