Love on the Run

“Antoine Doinel. He's got four ladies ... Nine lives ... and Plenty of alibis!”

Antoine Doinel (Jean-Pierre Léaud) is in his thirties, divorced, working as a proofreader, and in love with Sabine (Dorothée), who sells records. He has also published a book about his own life, and Colette Tazzi (Marie-France Pisier), now a lawyer, picks up a copy and finds herself in it. François Truffaut, closing the Doinel cycle, cuts back through clips of the earlier four films, showing a man still trying to work out how a love gets finished.
