Lovers: A True Story

“This landlady has more than just rent on her mind”

Paco (Jorge Sanz), a young serviceman just out of the army, wants a steady life and a respectable marriage, and he has a fiancée, Trini (Maribel Verdú), waiting on him. Then he takes a room with Luisa (Victoria Abril), a widow who wants more than he can give her, and the affair that follows is where Vicente Aranda keeps the camera. Paco stands in the doorway of her room, caught between the two women he has made promises to.
