Missie Davis (January Jones) teaches school on the 1800s frontier, and she loves the prairie nearly as much as she loves her books. Then she meets Grant, a handsome railroad executive from New England, and he seems to have stepped out of one of her novels. Michael Landon Jr. sets that pull against a home she has never wanted to leave, and Missie has to decide what she will give up.
