Love's Labour's Lost

“A new spin on the old song and dance.”

Ferdinand (Alessandro Nivola) is a young king who has sworn off women for three years of study, and he makes his three companions swear it too, Berowne (Kenneth Branagh) among them. Then the Princess (Alicia Silverstone) arrives on a diplomatic visit with three ladies-in-waiting, Rosaline (Natascha McElhone) among them. Branagh sets Shakespeare's comedy to old standards, and its quarrel is plain: a vow made against love is a promise nobody can keep.
