Loving Memories

A man with no memory of his own name turns up in a photograph in the newspapers in 1919, three years after Julien Delaunay was reported missing in action. Julie (Leïla Bekhti) takes one look at the picture and knows him as her husband, so she brings him home and sets about teaching him to love her again. Guillaume Bureau films the postwar months in a restrained, period-faithful style, keeping the camera on the two of them.
