“Love to live. Live to love.”

In Salvador da Bahia, two old friends, Deco (Lázaro Ramos) and Naldinho (Wagner Moura), share a cargo boat and the hard, steady work that comes with it. They take on a passenger, Karinna (Alice Braga), a prostitute who needs a ride, and both men want her from the first day. Sérgio Machado follows Deco, the quieter of the two, as he starts to weigh a woman against the one friendship he has always had.
