Luce

“The truth has many faces.”

Luce Edgar (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) is a star athlete and top student, the adopted son of Amy (Naomi Watts) and Peter (Tim Roth), and the kind of kid a whole school points to as proof. Then his teacher Harriet Wilson (Octavia Spencer) reads an essay he wrote about political violence and takes it to his mother. Julius Onah keeps the family at the kitchen table, where Luce smiles and answers every question politely.
