“Respect your elders.”

An ornery, chain-smoking widow in New York's Chinatown, known only as Grandma (Tsai Chin), takes her savings to the casino and bets everything she has. The wager pulls her into a gang war, and she hires a bodyguard, Big Pong (Ha Hisao-yuan), to keep up with it. Sasie Sealy, making her feature debut, lets the comedy sit close to the people around Grandma and keeps the camera at her eye level.
