Nobody explains why Deputy Tryokhgolovich (Vladimir Menshov) takes Kolotilov (Konstantin Khabensky), a schoolteacher from Palchiki, for the coach of a children's soccer team. He confiscates the man's passport and tears up his ticket to Moscow, where Nadya (Milla Jovovich) is waiting for the wedding. Levan Gabriadze's film follows Kolotilov as he works hard to make his own hastily assembled team lose, so he can finally go to her.
