Lunacy

Jean Berlot (Pavel Liška) is a young man who has been taking nightmares for the real thing, and he accepts a stay at the estate of the Marquis (Jan Tříska), a man he barely knows. Jan Švankmajer, who loosely adapts two Edgar Allan Poe stories here, shoots the house and its grounds like a long fever, with raw meat moving by itself between scenes. Berlot agrees to a treatment at an asylum, and the only question is whether the Marquis wants him cured or kept.
