(1978)Directed by Soji Yoshikawa102 min · PG-13Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Crime, Drama
“Sometimes, being able to put together a world-class art collection takes a thief... this time it takes an extraordinary thief!”

In 1978, the master thief Lupin III (Yasuo Yamada) is chasing Fujiko Mine (Eiko Masuyama), a rival he wants to win over, and the chase pulls him toward Mamo, a wealthy recluse who seems unable to die. Soji Yoshikawa directs this first animated feature from Monkey Punch's manga, giving Lupin and his gang a loud, colorful run through a ruthless man's secrets. Lupin goes after them anyway, grinning, with Fujiko always one step ahead of him.
