Magda (Penélope Cruz) wants to keep going as the woman she was, but a lump in her breast brings a diagnosis of chemotherapy and then a mastectomy. At her son Dani's soccer game, she draws the eye of Arturo (Luis Tosar), a scout looking for young players.
