Ma mère

Pierre (Louis Garrel), seventeen, is sent to spend the summer with his mother after his father's death, and he cannot tell what she has been hiding from him all these years. Héléne (Isabelle Huppert) takes him in and then begins, slowly, to show him how she lives, with Réa (Joana Preiss) and Hansi (Emma de Caunes) close by. Christophe Honoré, adapting Georges Bataille, keeps the house shut against the summer, Pierre standing in the doorway with the heat behind him.
