Machine Gun Preacher

“Hope is the greatest weapon of all”

Sam Childers (Gerard Butler) is a drug-dealing biker released from prison, and what turns him around, and how a man like that ends up in South Sudan, is the question driving the film. Marc Forster follows him from a Pennsylvania church to villages where Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army takes children from their homes and makes them fight. Sam builds a shelter for them, a man pressed hard by what he sees and by what it demands of him.
