In 1953, two brothers drive through rural Georgia in a battered car, heading for the army. Chris Dixon (Alan Vint) rides along with Jenny Scott (Cheryl Waters) on the road, and Deputy Reed Morgan (Max Baer Jr.) keeps his eye on them. Richard Compton lets the story rest on Chris and Jenny, two people thrown together by a long road and a town that has already decided what it thinks of them.
