Mad City

“One man will make a mistake. The other will make it a spectacle.”

A museum has laid off its guard, and Sam Baily (John Travolta) walks back in with a gun to ask for his job. Max Brackett (Dustin Hoffman), a TV reporter stuck in a small-market exile, happens to be inside, and he sees a way back to the network. Costa-Gavras builds the story on what passes between these two men, one who needs help and one who needs a story.
