Mad Love

(1935)Directed by Karl Freund68 minHorror, Thriller
“A new, a strange, a gifted personality comes to the screen!”

Doctor Gogol (Peter Lorre), a surgeon, sits night after night in the audience of a Paris theater, wanting only the actress Yvonne Orlac (Frances Drake), who is married to someone else. When a train accident ruins the hands of her husband Stephen (Colin Clive), a pianist, she brings him to Gogol for repair. Karl Freund shoots Lorre with a shaved head and a soft, pleading voice, leaning over the operating table with Stephen's bandaged hands laid out before him.
